What is a
Lightning Sprint?
Make no mistake. . . . .these are real openwheel race cars capable of "lightning" quick lap times.  These cars will turn lap times comparable to a full fledged sprint car on 3/8 and smaller dirt oval tracks.  Top speeds of 135 m.p.h. have been obtained.  Acceleration is similar to that of a 360 sprint car.  They not only look like a scaled down sprint car . . . they run like one!

Lightning Sprints are powered by 1200 c.c. four stroke motorcycle engines specifically modified for this type of racing.  Couple that 200+ h.p. motor to a light weight chassis weighting a total of 725 pounds and you have all the makings of a four wheeled rocket!  The big wings on top and on the nose of the car help "plant" the car to the racing surface to maintain car control at these amazing speeds.

Car construction and setup are the same as it's big brother, the full sized sprint car.  If setup properly, the car can travel the entire track without the driver actually "lifting" the throttle.

Bottom line. . . . for low investment and low maintenance costs, these cars are one of the fastest forms of dirt track racing vehicles in the world.  This is a class that is growing world wide, not just nationwide.
